Second release from this fresh French project, after a very limited selfproduced CDR entitled «NPI». Ritual ambient, hypnotic drones and ambient noise compose this apocalyptic journey to the Source of Everything.

«A civilisation that proves incapable of solving the problems it creates is a decadent civilisation ; a civilisation that closes its eyes to its most crucial problems is a stricken civilisation» - Aimé Césaire

The dreamy and romantic Paris has been transformed into a theatre of horror since Exworks activities. This French project has launched their second release, inviting the listener to join their secret depths.
The opening cut “Pre Monition” starts as a session of hypnosis. The French spoken words are (with a little bit imagination) bringing the listener into a state of unconsciousness. A dark sphere comes down to bring the subject into a more noise-like soundscape entitled “Silence”. Whispering, spooky and spoken words emerging from the dark and resonating “Dépendance” are resulting in a first highlight. Similar ingredients have been used on “Voie”. “Monade” goes on in darkness and torment unleashing a few new mysterious parts. One of the most surprising track is “Colonisation” for the extracts of a speech by Aimé Césaire (one of the pioneers of the so-called ‘Négritude’ movement, which resulted in a reaction against racism on the French islands). The last track “Destruction” leads the album to a more noise-orientated soundscape apotheosis.
“Monade” is a fully enjoyable composition appealing for fans of dark ambient and ambient-noise.

I had not heard of Exworks, but the label describes this album as 'Ritual ambient, hypnotic drones and ambient noise compose this apocalyptic journey to the Source of Everything.' This is the first thing I listened to in the package from Steelkraft Manufactory and all I have to say is that the other four discs have a lot to live up to. This is absolutely amazing noisy dark ambient. I could see this alongside the best works from Malignant Records and Cyclic Law. Hypnotic drones mix with static and noise to create a wonderful soundscape that draws you in. The closest thing I have heard recently is Theologian (Navicon Torture Technologies new project which is a significant departure from his old NTT material). My copy is 39 out of 100. Don't be number 101 ' if you like your dark ambient extra dark this is one to take a chance on. This album weighs in at around 50 minutes.
